Looking for
4 Wheel Mobility Scooters?

There are plenty of great three wheelers on the market, but sometimes 4 wheel mobility scooters are the way to go. Where three wheelers provide plenty in the way of maneuverability, a four wheeler tends to be more stable, have better traction, and provide greater comfort, as a result of larger wheels, thicker seats, and a generally larger frame.

Heavy Duty Scooters For Heavy Duty Lifestyles

A lot of people see heavier scooters such as 4 wheel mobility scooters and bariatrics models as being only for people dealing with severe weight issues. However, this is not always the case. We are all born with different body types and we all have different needs. Many of us are simply a foot or two taller than your average person, or have larger bodies in general. Big and tall people are just as likely to suffer from lost mobility as those of us who don’t stand an inch over five to six feet tall. For this reason, heavy duty, four wheelers, and bariatrics models have also come to be known as Big and Tall Scooters.

Maneuverability, however, is the main downside. It shouldn’t be too much of a hassle, but if you intend to use a four wheeler indoors, you’ll have to learn how to make three point turns so as to get around your home comfortably, whereas a three wheeler can usually do full circles even in tight bathrooms and kitchens. Another downside is that larger scooters will require more power to continue operating. The battery packs found in four wheel models are generally built with the greater need in mind, but they will take longer to charge, and this will mean a bit of a difference in your power bill. Of course, if you absolutely need a four wheeler, neither of these setbacks should change your mind.

Finding the Right Scooter for You

When deciding between 3 or 4 wheel mobility scooters, keep your own personal needs in mind. Check some reader reviews, but remember that you need to find what’s right for you, as there’s no such thing as a scooter or chair that’s perfect for everyone.
